fitting & ordering process

Step-by-step fitting guide

Our shoes are built to last many years if properly fitted. Below is guide of how to measure your feet at home.

Prepare a pencil and plain piece of A4 paper. Now, place the paper up on the floor. For the measurement to be correct, stand on the paper in such a way that the measured feet is well weighted.
Draw around your feet. Try not to add extra millimeters.
Draw two paraller lines at the beginning and end of the outline. You can see how it should look like on the photo.
Measurement A on the picture between two lines is a foot length. Measure the length with a ruler and write it on the paper.
Add other measurements of the foot depending on the type of footwear.
Please inform me if measurements were taken of a bare foot or using socks. Especially if socks are thick.

Authentic historical footwear made by hand

Historical Shoes is a family business focused on the reconstruction of historical footwear from various periods. Each pair is made by hand using traditional techniques and carefully selected materials.

Our work is based on archaeological finds, historical illustrations, and written sources. We create shoes for historical reenactment, LARP events, stage use, museums, and private collectors. Every project is treated individually, with attention to detail, comfort, and historical accuracy.
